2012 coming soon.

Happy New Year’s Eve!
I’m planning to sit and watch a movie tonight after dinner. May you all have fun with your family and/or friends?
I went up to the Cape Flattery Trail tonight with my three (3) labs. If you see a white truck cruz’n by with three (3) big dogs that’s me. I love to drive that road: when I was a very serious praying person I would pray and ask God to watch over our community, up at the Cape. There is a scenic spot that overlooks the Pacific Ocean…IT’S so pretty there.
But please visit the Cape Flattery Trail if you come out to Neah Bay in 2012.

Look at this picture...You can see GOD'S face
If you look at this photo upside down...you will see God's Face.
I need authorization but I have plans to dedicate this picture to someone. All throughout the creation of my book, I've had little signs telling me to go forward with the publication. This was only one....of the many signs.

Book Questionnaire

Today, I received an Email from the Publishing Co. It was a "Book Questionnaire" asking me to describe my book. The book is now undergoing the Conceptual Editing. Which means: He/she is an objective reader who will be both your toughest critic and your closest ally.
So I was told by Rachael, who works for the publishing company.

Share with your loved ones....Laughter, Love, and Rejoicing!

First of all, I hope you all have our hearts and homes filled with love through the holidays. Family is so important throughout our lifetime or it should be. I have been surrounded by many family members. I have always esteemed the elders that are/were in my life. When a loved one dies in our family the burden weighs heavy upon our hearts. Personally I have felt that to many times throughout my lifetime. But I always recover with the help and love of those still here with me. So go out and be with your family...Laugh, Love One Another, and Rejoice TOGETHER.

Reading Again.

Yesterday & today; I was having second thoughts, so I started to read the manuscript agian. It was fun to read my story. I did notice some mistakes and hope that the editor will notice them as well. It made me think - okay, YES... I do like this story & can't wait for others to read it too.

Football.

It's so exciting that the Neah Bay Reds are going to the Tacoma Dome to play in the State B Football Tournament. First of all I wish them good luck, play hard, and WIN! In my book you are going to find that I write about the Neah Bay Red Devils playing football. Neah Bay has always been an enthusiastic town when it comes to supporting the youth.

Only one real Native song.

A respectful Makah lady lived to be in her early hundreds (100's). She passed away in the year of 2001. I would like to recongize her for teaching my son Anthony a song. My son and I would visit her at home, she had the patients to teach my then five (5) year old son. This is the only real Native American song that is written in my book.
Perhaps in the next book an addition will be made - A real Makah Family song. (*_-)

Nicolai Vain will be the character that brings the Tamanawis Power to Neah Bay, WA. He takes the necessary actions to prepare his followers before Joseph was even born. Nicolai Vain persuades one (1) or two (2) people from each family in the village to except the Indian Power. This makes everything change from the GOOD to the BAD in Neah Bay.

A portion of the BOOK.

The Star Fire Crew had exited the cave just minutes ago, they looked down at the cave and smoke was still billowing out of it. They turned around being in utter shock, of what took place just minutes ago. There stood Joseph Ta*Hay*Yasip Miller in front of them. He was standing before them his arms extended out, his palms facing the sky. Joseph then turned left to make a complete circle. To show that he would leave all of this behind him (A Native American tradition). Joseph fell to his knees. Praying and giving thanks to God for giving him the power to fulfill the calling upon his life. He completed and won the biggest battle ever recorded in Indian History!

11/11/11 post.

1). What is a Pook Man?

There is a true legend about a Makah Mask that exists to this day.

I asked a local artist for a story behind the "Pook Man" mask. He told me this, "A fisherman went missing and the Makah people looked for him. Not finding him after a long intense search. This fisherman was not going to give up. He fought for his life, the fisherman arouse to the top of the ocean. Out emerged his lips releasing air 'Poooook'." This artist told me more but you get the picture. If you would like more info on this legend come to the Makah Museum.

My first posting

This book was so fun to write. You will find that it has an element of family fun . Dinners and family gatherings are a big part in this book. You might get hungry at times, Smile.

The book introduces Joseph's family at the beginning starting with Fawn and her childhood. And proceeds to the dark days that they all endure together; the battle with the "Pook Men" and "Nicolai Vain". The battle takes place up at The Cape Flattery Trail.

More to come later, please let's get the word out about this Blog Page. Truly it would be appreciated.
